It’s that time of year again for Food Wine & Waves 2020!
In 2018, Museum Shores Yacht Club supported an initiative, Museum Shores Educational Community Project, a 501c(3). This program, Project H.E.L.M. (Harbor Education Life-Safety Mindset) is designed to educate south side youth. This program also strives to encourage personal development, leadership skills and problem-solving abilities in a fun and exciting learning environment.
Project H.E.L.M. is committed to teaching the youth community through programs and exercises with the objective of building self-esteem and confidence. By exposing members of the community to the boating lifestyle, it will acquaint them with future possibilities and a working knowledge of boating. Included in our teaching is providing exposure for children to experience everyday common-sense life management skills. Thus, the young people feel a sense of pride that can be felt in the community.
Click here to visit the Project H.E.L.M web page on the MSYC website for past event information and pictures.
As we prepare for the workshops, we are looking for partners who can contribute to funding the program. It is our desire to open the eyes of the south side youth to the boating environment, one they may not otherwise experience. Your financial contribution will give the youth who participate in the program a once in a lifetime experience, as well as, provide visibility for you or your business, organization or service.
